BEAUTY // Backstage's Make Up Artists Secrets
Monday, November 21, 2011I love make up.
During fashion shootings, fashion shows and wherever else, I ask make up artists for tips, must have products and new trends.
I've learnt from them so many tricks, and now I'm going to share them with you.
- First of all, they all use Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream, especially when models have dry skin or lips. They taught me to use it as a mask when I'm tired or stressed or as a night cream if I need to look rested. I use it every night as a lip balm. It's a little bit smelly but I can't live anymore without it.
- Body make up. Maybe you don't know that also legs, arms, hands are generally covered with foundation and concealer. This is also because postproduction is expensive! They generally use Mac's Face and Body Foundation.
- Each time I've asked them for the best foundation, there were just one answer: Giorgio Armani. They all use Luminous Silk Foundation. I'll try it because I'm very curious and they all gave me the same tip. Someone of them uses also Bobby Brown and Laura Mercier. I've never worked yet with make up artists using Make Up Forever products but right now I'm using Mat Velvet Foundation and Full Cover Concealer and I like both of them because they are really long-lasting.
- Hairs: I've straight hair and for years I've never done anything with them so I'm not so skilled about hair, my maximum is a ponytail or a chignon. Despite of this or maybe thank to this I'm now interested in cover that gap. What they told me is, as for Armani's foundation, hairs' top products are from Bumble & Bumble. I saw those products on models' hairs and I can tell you that you can really see the difference.
- You need good brushes. No way.
- Use baby's wet wipes to remove make up. They are less expensive than the make up wipes and if you can use them for a baby then you can use them also for the face.
- Chanel has the best nail laquers' colors. Maybe they aren't super long lasting but they are super fashion. Actually I wear Peridot quite alway and I think it's perfect and also durable. After a 2-3 days it becomes more gold.
